Himachal avalanche: search ends with restoration of two extra our bodies

The search and rescue operation for troopers trapped by an avalanche in Himachal Pradesh’s Kinnaur district was referred to as off after the our bodies of the final two lacking troopers have been recovered on Thursday, a defence spokesperson mentioned.

Naik Videsh Chand, Rifleman Arjun Kumar and 4 different jawans of seven Jammu and Kashmir Rifles have been buried beneath the avalanche at Shipki La close to the India-China border on February 20.

Chand and Kumar’s our bodies have been recovered on Thursday morning, 23 days after the incident.

Patrol workforce

Havaldar Rakesh Kumar’s physique was recovered on the day of the avalanche [February 20] , whereas the our bodies of Riflemen Rajesh Rishi and Govind Bahadur Chhetri and Nitin Rana have been recovered on March 2, four and 9 respectively. The tragedy occurred when the patrol workforce was shifting between two posts.

About 400 Military personnel and several other residents of Khab village carried out the search and rescue operation regardless of opposed climate situations, the official mentioned.
